Bare Bones

The rather Romanian sounding Curtea Veche record label actually hails from North Wales and shares the stable alongside other impressive imprints OGE, FA>IE, Dreams Are Not Inside and Into The Wizards Sleeve.  All of the forementioned labels are owned by Haydn (ITWS co-owned alongside Tijn), who has an ear for all things Deep House and Minimal. He has a real knack for finding and signing unknow talent to the roster alongside existing superstars such as Ricardo Villalobos, Halo Varga and Jay Tripwire. This release is number 4 on the Serii Speciale sub label and the artist enlisted is Suinyl.

Here the Buenos Aires native offers four original tracks that all sit perfectly between Deep House and Minimal.  The title track “Noteapressure” is up first, boasting a wicked up-tempo groove with jazz elements, live drums and whispering vocals making it a winning formula. The second cut is “Susax” and although it’s slightly faster in tempo than the first track, it has a more laid-back vibe with chilled sax samples and swing led percussion. “Less Is More” is the third offering which is driven by some lovely synth stabs and atmospheric sounds while final track “Raices” completes the package off nicely with a deep minimal workout.  The package is pressed nicely on a clear record and is a limited vinyl only release.
