Echoes of Glory – Issue One

Echoes of Glory is a new vinyl-only imprint that’s owned and run by Tech House pioneer, Grant Dell. We know very little about the ethos of the label or what they have in store for the future, but, if the first release is anything to go by then it will become buy on sight. The theme for “Issue One” is two original tracks, from Carlo Gambino and Dahbar on one side, and two very different remixes of those tracks from two legends being Radioactive Man and Carl Finlow on the flip.

Up first is “BYO” from Carlo Gambino and it’s already gaining support from Raresh, Matt Tolfrey and Silverlining, among others.  Familiar rap vocals are laid over deep groovy beats building up to a break which introduces what can only be described as a monster of a synth.  Trust me, this sends any crowd into a frenzy.  Dahbar’s “Depilada” is the second track and gives a full tech workout with spoken vocals, and creepy cords set to a great percussive groove.  On the flip, Radioactive Man gets to grips with Carlo’s “BYO”, and turns in a wicked Electro Breaks remix with a heavy bottom end aimed purely at the dancefloors of today. Finally, Carl Finlow takes the reins to give his take of “Depilada”. Pulsating electro beats with the vocals cleverly intertwined set the vibe perfectly in a style he has of his own.  This is a perfect first release that I recommend you buy while you still can, it won’t stay around long.
