Andy Ash – Lightbulb EP

Seminal UK Deep House label Quintessentials has been releasing vinyl since 2008. The label roster reads like a who’s who of Deep House royalty, maintain a high level of quality control leaning towards music made for adults of a more underground persuasion.  This is release number 78 and they have enlisted a three track EP from Liverpudlian Andy Ash.  This follow’s on from a couple of impressive outings recently on Jimpster’s Delusions Of Grandeur  imprint.

Up first is “Lightbulb Transaction” with a deep Chicago inspired vibe.  Lucious deep synths and pads interact with a warm bass and upbeat percussion creating a monster of a club track.  Over on the flip “Repeaters” takes things slightly deeper with a whispering vocal and almost samba style percussion interlaced with upbeat synths giving off the perfect summer vibe.  “Revolving Shadows” is the final track which is pitched down to 109 bpm.  This track is all about the groove while giving just the right amount of funk making it perfect warm up tackle.  This is another impressive release from Andy and well worth checking out.
